Drenched Ep 4
Drenched Ep 4
Mira’s heart hammered against her ribs, the sound echoing loudly in her own ears. Her hands, still buried in the oversized sleeves of his hoodie, trembled slightly.
When she opened her eyes, Kabir was right there, his gaze fixed on her lips with an intensity that made her knees weak.
"Kabir..." she breathed, his name a soft plea, though even she didn't know if she was begging him to stop or to hurry up.
"Tell me to stop, Mira," he murmured, his face inches from hers. His thumb dragged slowly across her lower lip again, tilting her chin up just a fraction more. "Tell me you don't want this, and I’ll walk away right now. I swear I will."
Mira looked into his dark eyes, searching for a lie, but found only a raw, burning sincerity.
The wall of anger and self-preservation she had built up over the last year began to crumble, brick by brick.
Instead of answering, she let out a shaky breath, closed the agonizing distance between them, and pressed her lips to his.
It was the catalyst he needed.
A low groan escaped Kabir’s throat as his control snapped. His hand slid from her jaw to the back of her neck, his fingers tangling deep into her damp curls to anchor her to him.
The kiss wasn't tentative; it was a fierce, possessive pouring out of a year's worth of denial, hunger, and unspoken longing.
Mira gasped into his mouth, the sound instantly swallowed as he deepened the kiss, his tongue tangling with hers in a slow, intoxicating rhythm.
Her hands broke free from the long sleeves, immediately finding their way up his chest, gripping the crisp linen of his shirt before sliding up to wrap tightly around his neck, pulling him closer.
The glass of rum slipped from her fingers, thudding softly onto the thick rug below, completely forgotten.
Kabir pressed forward, his large frame crowding her against the floor-to-ceiling window.
The cold glass against her back contrasted sharply with the searing heat of his body against hers.
He shifted his weight, his thigh sliding between hers, grounding her, demanding her complete attention.
His mouth left hers, tracing a burning path down the sensitive line of her jaw to the curve of her neck.
Mira arched into the touch, a soft, breathless gasp escaping her as his lips found the exact spot that made her shiver.
"I missed you," Kabir growled against her skin, his hands moving down to grip her waist, lifting her slightly so she was flush against him. "God, Mira, it was driving me insane."
