In a remote village in the district of Azamgarh located in Uttar Pradesh, there lived a tall, slender, a boy in his late 20s Rohan Agarwal-the coming-of-age youth, brimming with enthusiasm, full-on raw energy with big dreams in his eyes ready to conquer the world at one go. But what deterred him from realizing his one and only passion of making a foray into the corporate world coupled with high-paid salary and getting to work in a swanky office to uplift his otherwise dull, drab, worn-out lifestyle, was the fact that his family was not affluent enough to give concrete shape to his dreams and aspirations. But as preordained, his father Bhavesh Agarwal somehow managed to save his hard-earned money with the honest and noble purpose of getting Rohan admitted into a top-notch B School of his son's choice, the examinations of which were meticulously cracked by him with flying colors by virtue of his potential and expertise. Things finally seemed to be looking up for the family who, till now, had been steeped into the ocean of darkness, misery, and poverty.

Lady Luck happened to be smiling and bestowing Her Blessings on Rohan what with he being landed up a job in a leading corporate firm with the designation of the Zonal Marketing manager with a stupendous salary one can boast of and the one to envy for. Herein began his inroads and fulfilling journey into the competitive, rather harsh, cruel corporate world which would leave no stone unturned to outshine and outdo each other given the rat race they are indulging in the possible hope and gain of money, greed, power, and position. Cut to Rohan, he became the cynosure of all eyes-the blue-eyed boy everyone was vouching for given his immense talent and intelligence, the amount of hard work he put into each and every project, sincerity, efficiency, perseverance, focus and last but not the least, his sheer presence of mind. Life appeared to come a full circle for him with countless accolades and laurels, satisfactory appraisals, and prestigious awards pouring in from all quarters. His happiness knew no bounds and Rohan was literally on cloud nine. His achievements at such a tender age lured him inputting into more and more endeavors on the work front to prove his efficacy day in and day out with more gusto. But as per the saying, 'Everything is transient', his dream world started crumbling down. As if someone had cast an evil eye on his world of happiness which he had crafted beautifully by dint of his sweat and blood. Very soon yet abruptly, Rohan incurred the wrath of his envious fellow colleagues and within a very short span of time, he became the butt of ridicule and the subject of utter jealousy amongst them who would not leave a single chance to mock and underestimate him under the public eye-emanating from their envious and frustrated minds-a mere psychological condition where humans are not accustomed or cannot stand the pleasure, happiness, and positivity of others and where they feel they are far lagging behind in all aspects, based on the statistics of the average human psyche, if not all. Another form of confrontation of reality, the dark, hard-hitting truth awaited Rohan and seemed to be knocking at his doorstep. Initially, he used to feel hurt for their insult, taunt, and rude comments in spite of trying his level best to turn a deaf ear to them, but after a certain point of time, he could take it any longer. The encounter with yet another lopsided dimension of the corporate world beneath the facade of its alluring, sunnier, and positive aspect started haunting him every now and then and the feeling of dejection and isolation began to sink in into his psyche gradually. Even the incessant flowing of the awards into his shelf gave Rohan no respite from the continuous bullying and humiliation he had to undergo every day. Life seemed to him one helluva of torture and he decided to put an end to his daily dose of emotional turmoil.

Alas! The day or rather the so-called 'Doomsday' knocked around the corner in Rohan's life. He took the drastic and desperate step of committing suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room at his rented apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. The news of his sudden demise reached his parents who were bewildered and devastated and fainted every time after regaining consciousness. A budding and blossoming life came to a standstill!! In fact, it ended too soon putting all speculation to rest and the crushing of one's long-cherished dream to make it big in the professional arena. God forbid no youngsters have to go through this menacing ordeal in his/her way of climbing up the corporate ladder to get a slice of life, unthinkable and unimaginable of in reality shrouded with dichotomy. May Almighty save them and the Day!!
