Aadit and Juhi have been married for more than fourteen years now and have a daughter Rimi about 12 years of age. Aadit and Juhi's life have been like a roller coaster ride with different kinds of experiences- some good, some not so good, some funny and others not so funny. Both are exactly opposite to each other, Aadit being the man who speaks less, has no memories at all- neither good nor bad and to get a glimpse of him smiling is like getting a fortune, that is very rare. He is always busy with his office and rest of the time with his favorite cellphone. Juhi on the other hand loves to hold on to different memories- whether good or bad, big or small.

Juhi generally spends her time in the evening with a cup of hot ginger tea which is her favorite and relives her memories one by one. One such evening, while sipping through her cup of tea, she remembered the experience which she had around fourteen years back.

At that time, Aadit and Juhi were newly married and were planning to go for a short trip to Chandipur. Aadit's brother, Joy, was unmarried at that time, so Aadit and Juhi insisted that Joy should join them, as Juhi treated Joy as her own brother. Joy too, was more than happy to join them.

Chandipur is a small place but when you are newly married, experiences matter more than places. So, they all left for the place happily. They preferred staying in a hotel close to the sea. Juhi had not traveled much before marriage, so she enjoyed every bit of it. It was late evening when they reached Chandipur, so they went to the sea beach next morning. But due to low tide, the sea had gone far away from the beach. So, three of them started walking and had to walk around 1 k.m. to reach the sea water. Both the brothers, Aadit and Joy, were making fun of Juhi, as she was fearing to enter deep into the sea. They were all enjoying a lot, but suddenly after about 30 minutes, Aadit who was standing about 2 feet ahead of Juhi in the sea shouted- "Move back, water level is rising rapidly." Immediately after his warning, a big wave came and the water level had risen to Juhi's waist. Aadit and Joy were wearing shorts so they started moving backwards towards the beach quickly. But Juhi wearing a salwar kameez was finding it difficult to move backwards. Due to high tide, the water level had started to rise very rapidly and if they did not move fast, they would all drown as neither of them knew swimming. Suddenly, the happiness on their faces vanished and it was replaced by panic. Juhi had to put in a lot of effort to keep pace with Aadit and Joy, who being taller than Juhi, had to put in a lesser effort. But after some time, Juhi felt breathless. She was just not able to fight with the force of the sea waves. She had almost given up, she felt she would not be able to make it to the beach anymore. So, she said, "Aadit, leave me and go, both of you save your lives. I will not be able to move a bit, I am totally exhausted. Water level is rising, so hurry up." Aadit angrily shouted at Juhi, "Have you gone mad? Come, I will carry you on my back." "No, no", Juhi said. But Aadit called out, "Joy, just hold her one hand and I will hold another." Both caught hold of Juhi's hands and literally dragged her out of the sea. By the time they reached the shore, the sea water had almost covered 1 k.m. of the beach, which three of them had walked before, due to high tide. As they reached the shore, there was a sigh of relief. None of them had faced something like that before. Juhi sat on the dry shore and started to giggle, poking fun at Aadit, to lighten up the situation by saying, "You were saying you would carry me on your back, if that would happen, then there would have been no chance for us to survive. You are so clumsy when you try to pick me up on land and God only knows what would happen in water." Hearing this, all of them started giggling and then burst out into laughter. Aadit only said, "You had totally given up and I thought that was the only way I could save you." But one thing was for sure, all of them were shaken by the experience. They knew quite well what could have happened. It had been a narrow escape.

This experience seemed as if it happened only a few days back, but fourteen years have passed since then. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and Juhi was back to her present. Rimi had returned home after playing. Juhi opened the door and thought tomorrow again another cup of tea and brushing up of another memory.
