Deepali

In a family when there is a birth of a girl child either the family is happy or worried about her future because a girl child is always a burden but the parents either know or don't know what actually a girl child is?? What her presence is in the family...

Deepali was born in a middle class family but her relatives were not happy with her arrival as they were expecting a boy but a girl was born, the way of thinking of her parents and her relatives was totally different. The relatives live in the same area. Deepali was good in each and everything in the family as well as outside of the house right from purchasing the vegetables for the family. Partiality with her brother was done on a regular basis, some where her relative bought something it was only there for her brother Dhruv. There was nothing for her. When she ask them about it that time relative said that, " no nothing I have bought for you and don't expect anything from me for you " she used to ask her mother why her relatives said like this to her, there was no option in front of her, her hands were folded.

One day Deepali was washing utensils, her Aunty called her and told her to move the vegetables for demand. Deepali moved the utensil of that, she was very close to the gas, meanwhile her Aunty came and she dashed with her, due to that her body became imbalanced and her hands went into the gas as the gas was very near her, she was about to close the gas and that accident took place and she cried with pain. Deepali was run immediately to the hospital, Doctor looked at her and applied cream on her hands and gave few medicines but hands were burnt little bit by god grace, it was not much so serious condition of Deepali.

Her mother came to know that it was not an accident it was done to trouble her with the corrupt mind. But she scolded her, fought with her, asked the reason behind doing these rubbish things but at the end it was concluded by saying only one line - "Girls are burden to the family, I can't tolerate her in the house, you gave birth to her you should have dropped her, why to spend money on her....????

After hearing this her mother said - "She is my daughter, I have given birth to her I have taken care of her for 9 months, she is my friend, she is my half part of my life, how can you do this with her????

Her Aunty did not have any answer to her questions and rather felt guilty for her behavior with Deepali...

She changed totally and later on did all the things which she used to do for the Dhruv....
