Couple Corner
Couple Corner
What she wanted was his time and what he wanted was also his time. The relativity of time has always been subjective and thus it varies in perspective of different persons. These were the thoughts that came to me when I saw them, a lonely couple at the corner of their thoughts and in the space of the family court. Both of them were separated by the arms of their chairs and the wall they shared had its mark of many more before them who left.
The air remained heavy between them. What peculiar subject struck me was the clock which stood above them -- over their heads. It was stuck at nine and the tiny one shivered up and down oscillating to and fro waiting for the push to break its confusion. Identically were the two below the clock they were confused I guess, neither did they take a chance to look nor exchange a word: but still from far they appeared as a couple. The court stood for the day and the law took its day break, all the people moved along but the two didn't, Why? Why wouldn't they?
Never did I have an answer. Maybe their thoughts heaved their body and mind, and it was she who broke the guard of the arm as she placed her hand over his. Taken aback was she, for a moment of pause, but she regained her strength, with a heavy breath she walked away. Little was he expecting, maybe. But as time passed he too walked away but in the opposite way leaving behind the air -- heavy and tight for the next couple to breathe.
