Cool Water Bottle

I have just started my cab and waiting for a pick-up. It took some time to find the guest. Finally, I was able to find him. I got down and opened the door. He was a young guy in his casuals with short hair and long beard. I wished him “Namaste” he just nodded. As soon as he got in, I started and drove around 10 minutes without talking to him. He was busy with his mobile.

“I believe it is the hottest day of the summer Sir!” I said just to initiate a dialogue. He replied, "Yes, it is really”. Now I took this as an opportunity and started, “I have few cool drinks and also cool water bottles, if you wish you could buy, and it is just five rupees plus MRP”. He said, “I really don’t understand why everyone want to take an advantage of the situation.” I just interrupted him, “Sir, I feel I am helping guest in hot summer.” He continued, “How come you are helping for plus five rupees, you are making your profit by taking advantage of the situation’.

“Sir, I don’t keep the profit with me. I give the extra what ever I earn to a social organization that provides drinking water to the poor.” After this he bought a cool drink and water bottle from me and when he was leaving he gave me a tip of fifty rupees.

Later, I was talking to myself, how come If one sells hot tea up in the mountains and sells cool drinks in desert is considered as a business. And if I serve cool drinks to earn few extra bugs it is considered taking advantage of the situation. However, my ego got satisfied, I just narrated a story and the so called educated disciple guy who usually talks a lot about society doing nothing good to the society paid extra to me without even thinking twice.
