Priya, a young dynamic college going girl left her Home one Sunday morning , to fulfill her dream to become a singer. Her parents who are doctors never supported her. She was badly beaten up by her mother for she wanted to go for a singing audition in Kolkata.Priya was a very understanding girl. She knew very well that her parents wanted her to go for medical profession but she studied B.Sc in Wildlife Biology. She loved nature and spent hours in her garden feeding the birds whenever she got time. She regularly planted trees in and around her house and in the college campus. She was a good singer too. Her college teachers and friends encouraged her. She used to sing songs to raise money to save the 'Royal Bengal Tiger' from extinction. Save the Wildlife to save every human life was her slogan. After she completed her studies she was badly treated by her mother. One day when Priya was practicing music her mother entered her room and snatched the music copy and burned it . The whole day she cried alone. During evening when her father returned from work she told him what mother has done. But her father just said 'whatever she has done is for Your good' . Priya was alone but the nature was with her , her songs were with her. She was satisfied and was at peace with oneself. So she decided that she Will go to Kolkata for audition. Her school friend and her mother used to stay there for higher studies. She contacted her friend and went to Kolkata leaving behind a letter to her parents. Priya wrote ," dear Ma and Baba I love you both. I understand your feelings but I don't like the medical profession. During college days the dissection classes were worst one. To kill a bird, rat etc to learn something my heart does not allow me . I feel pain for the animals. So I don't want to go ahead. I love to sing and from childhood I wanted to be a singer like my grandma. You all don't worry. I am going to my friends house in Kolkata for audition and will return after I gey selected.love you both." Priya one Sunday morning boarded a train to Kolkata. She recalled of the days she spent with Saira her friend. Both wanted to be singers during school days but Saira listening to her parents took to engineering. They both used to learn music from priyas grand mother . Priyas mother never liked that and so ill-treated even grandma. But she was mostly out. Priya ,Saira and grand ma got sufficient time together to teach them classical songs. Priya and Saira both were B A. In Music. Priya misses her grandma very much. After her death she was left alone. No one to take care and no one to love her and hug her. Her parents were too busy. Saira and Priya were good singers. Grandma taught folk songs also .those days were the best days of priyas life. Priya went to Kolkata to fulfill her and grandmas dream to be a singer. During audition she was awesome. Judges loved her voice quality and her perfection . She dedicated all to her grandma. She won the competition and now is an established singer. But her mother never came to meet her. Every month her father comes to her new home in Kolkata. She hopes one day her mother too will forgive her and listen to her songs. She is happy to chase her dreams and happy to be a singer.one should follow ones dream. She was not alone now. Her grandma's music was living within her.her grandmas memories and lessons were her inspiration to move ahead in life.. Priya was really happy as a singer than to be a doctor.
