Whilst I slurped the orange coloured baraf ka golaa she was happily enjoying the kaalakhatta ... abruptly she was up to some mischief and pressed this black frozen juicy chunk of kaala khatta on my nose...I thwarted at her "whats this?"She smiled and said "you didn't do cheers with the baraf golaas!!"Aah sorry" said I and did the Cheering of our orange and black kaakakhatta....
I had booked a table for candle lit dinner and while the champagne was served her face was glowing behind the illuminating candle... While I was about to have a sip she promptly interrupted her glass of champagne...and said "say cheers, raise a toast of our togetherness....I
grinned with amusement...the raw bubbly lass who insists we shall cheer...what ever life gives us, be it modesty in baraf golaas or grandeur in champagne and candle lit dinners..
Many years later...a smile comes on lips remembering those long fond memories like a pleasent breeze...
While my hands are now old, shivering and It's time for our medication....I pour the nostrums in spoons she smiles with the familiar naughtiness...and says"Cheers nahi karoge...."and we gently cheered the spoons...
Be it any moment of our lives....We will cheer... she said..... resting her head to my shoulder... while we slowly walked hand in hand.... Cheering cheers to life....
