No one comes to this village. Everyone fears somehow, they may get what these villagers are getting. They think the deformity may be transferred through contact or through some unexplainable way. So, all other villagers avoid this village. Though it was not such 40 years ago. The old men say on a hot summer day a monk came to this village. None gave him anything, not even a glass of water. The monk cursed on the villagers. in the scorching heat, the monk left the village. Two miles away to the west he was found dead. Other villagers could not accept the monk's death so easily. They took the death of the monk as a great omen. Two months after his death, the first child was born with four fingers. He had no little finger. 5 months after these three children were born. They were also born with four fingers. After that, every child was born with four fingers instead of five. Two or three young men left the village fearing the same fate of their children. They never returned to tell if their wives bore five-fingered offspring’s. The nearest village is Hatore, 12 km north of this village. This village also had a name Purbia. But it has lost its such a beautiful name. People began to call it 'Char anglio Gaon' or Four finger village. 


 In this village lives Raj. He is a college pass out. From his childhood, he showed an inclination towards learning. His father did his best to achieve his goal. After finishing college, he is now looking for a job. But his four fingers raise many questions which make him embarrassed. During his quest for a job, he meets a man of medical science. He is Dr. Raghuprotap Singh, very energetic and also a social worker. He came to know the four-finger syndrome of his village. Dr. Raghuprotap once went out to his village with Raj. There he started to conduct a survey. He invited research scholars from abroad. Soon that weird village became a center of attraction for all the national and international media. People came to visit them. Even they came who once feared to tread the way to the village. One day राज discovered something. In the middle of the village, there was a jungle. Everyone avoided the jungle for fear of ghosts and snakes. But out of curiosity Raj entered there and found a very small patch of wetland. No one ever thought why even in drought the village was always a little wet. This was the reason. Raj thought the mystery of the birth of four-fingered children must be hidden in this wet patch of land. He called Dr. Raghuprotap and his associates. They searched the place and cleared the land. A little crack was discovered. Water specimen was collected and sent for property analysis. One month after the report came. That water contains Phiam, a kind of radioactive mineral. It produces genetic deformity if exposed for long term. The government replaced the village and made arrangement for the treatment of all villagers. Raj was employed in that research team. He married Laxmi. Everyone was anxiously waiting to see his child. And one fine morning Laxmi bore a five-fingered normal boy.
