Chai & Chandni Ch 5- Who is this guy?
Chai & Chandni Ch 5- Who is this guy?
Ameha came out of her room mid-day to notice her parents gone.
They actually did. Didn't they. She thought.
She went downstairs to notice both Latika & Kishor in kitchen preparing something.
"You are here. Come beta."
She faked a smile and stood infront of the kitchen counter.
"We are making Kadi Pakoda today. Your favourite."
Ameha noticed the smile & twinkle in her grandma's eyes, how happy she was to prepare Ameha's favourite dish. She also noticed how Kishor is helping her make Pakodas.
She sat on a chair facing the kitchen.
"Dadu, you always help Daadi??"
"Not always but sometimes when I am not occupied else where. Our main purpose is agriculture. Have your food and we can visit our fields afterwards. I will show you. "
"Can I ask you guys something? I don't see money as a problem here. You have a nice house and everything. You guys didn't feel like moving to cities? Like where we live?"
"Why would we prefer that?" Latika asked with confusion.
"Everything is better there. Communication, facilities, better lifestyle."
Kishor let out a sigh. "Never forget your roots. Place won't matter. All that matters is what kind of person you are or surrounded by. You are yet to learn a lot. But for now, lets have lunch. "
"But Dadu... City is still better than this shitty place. There is no wifi. So many people always around. Farming ain't easy. Barely I saw shops around. Life is difficult and boring. You should think.. "
Kishor cut her off. "Enough for now Ameha. Lets eat and today was new for you but in this household, we wake up sooner, have proper meals, and then enjoy our life. So you have to follow the same too."
Latika threw daggers at him. "She will learn with time."
She said with a smile.
After lunch, they all left for the fields. Kishor showed Ameha the crops around, agriculture technology with pride. Ameha was confused why they found it interesting yet listened silently.
After tours, tired of scorching heat, they all rested under a tree on a cot.
"Remember how you used to hide in these fields and we used to search for you for hours??" Latika said remembering the memories.
Ameha nodded still unsure.
A man along with two young men walked towards them.
"Sarpanch Ji.." They exchanged smiles. Kishor signalled other farmers to put a cot for them.
Ameha noticed the guys and recognised them to be the same ones she met yesterday at the tea stall.
She bowed down to Sarpanch to show respect and then got up and walked away acting like she is searching for network on her phone.
All in vain and no network around, she turned back to bump into a guy.
The guy wore a plain white shirt & black track pants with messy hair, beautiful eyes.
"Sor..."
"What are you doing here?"
" I don't think the land belongs to you Ma'am. Also I think you have some wrong perception of us. We are not eve-teasing or something. I think we scared you off. Hi, I am Akash. And my brother over there is Akshat. "
She felt he was genuine and extended her hand. "Ameha."
"You don't seem like you belong here. Whats the story?"
They walked along the long sugarcane field talking about them.
Akash lives in Delhi with his parent and Akshat chose to stay back with his grandparents in Suryapur.
Soon she was comfortable around him and they exchanged numbers.
