Broken Vow

There was a couple who are promising that their love will never fade till the end. Because they all know that they are destined to each other. But one day came, the party is already started and they were invited there. A man meets her childhood best friend named, Alliya, they both shake hands and started a conversation. His girlfriend Sandy was surprised as she has seen her boyfriend talking to another woman that's why she interrupted their verbal interchange.

Her boyfriend frowned as she came, "Hi." she greeted with a fake smile on her face.

"Hello. And you are..." 

She promptly answered, "I'm his girlfriend, Sandy." as she gave her hand to Alliyah.

Then she embraced her right arm to his boyfriend's left arm.

"Oh. I am sorry. Gerald, you didn't tell me that you have already a girlfriend." Alliyah chuckled.

"Nice to meet you, Sandy." she smiled forcibly.

"Glad to meet you, too."

"Ahm, Sandy can you leave us for a while. We have something to talk about privately." Gerald spoke and Sandy feel disgusted by the tone of her boyfriend's voice.

She thought that she's just a great disturbance to their conversation. 

Sandy nodded and left Gerald with Alliyah on the table because she didn't want any noise and ruined this part of their company's 10th year Anniversary.

"When did you arrived from the United Kingdom?" Gerald asked curiously because he really missed her childhood best friend that lost for five years and choose to live abroad.

"It is three days ago." 

"I really missed you, Alliyah. You already change a lot. You look more gorgeous at this time." he complimented.

"My physical features have changed but not my character. I am still Alliyah you have known when are both too young."

On the other place, Sandy doesn't feel more comfortable in her place that's why she decided to go back to go his boyfriend. However, unexpectedly she saw Gerald and his best friend both smiling at each other and they seem very happy. Now, Sandy cannot control her emotion to feel jealousy so that she went to the place and grabs her boyfriend a hand, and let go of him away from Alliyah.

"What's wrong with you, Sandy?" he said with frustration in his voice.

"I am sorry. I'm just..." she can't speak straight and control to pour tears from her eyes.

"Can you please stop thinking foolishly? It's annoying, Sandy." he walked three inches away and speak again, "If you really want to go home, wait for your taxi there and don't disturb us again."

Gerald walked again and never been looking back at her that made Sandy cry.

She rode in a taxi alone while pouring her tears until she got home and run to her bedroom.

She cried all over the night without eating her dinner. Her maids keep knocking on the door but she is not responding and keep all pillows over her head.

One week has passed. One week after her boyfriend left Sandy outside the company's building. She didn't receive any texts or calls from Gerald therefore Sandy thought that he is cheated on her. She thought that he is on his childhood best friend.

The instincts became true when the lady witness that Gerald and Alliyah are now holding their hands together and they looked very sweet to each other. After a few minutes, they have kissed passionately that made Sandy groaned and went away.

When Sandy treading along the street abstractedly, she just ignored those about her surroundings. A few minutes have passed, she decided to cross the street when the car almost hit herself if the man who with his arms would not save her.

"Are you crazy?" he shouted.

"You almost hit by that car uh," he said angrily.

But Sandy is not replied and remains silent.

"Are you mute? Why are you not answering?" 

She faced the guy and try to speak to him.

"I am sorry if I make you mad. You should not do it for me because I deserved to die." she sniffled.

"What? You are a crazy woman," he commented again without knowing her reasons behind what happens.

"Yeah you're right I am crazy that's why my boyfriend left me and went with the other woman," Sandy explained while still pouring her tears.

"I am sorry for disturbing you. And now you can go and leave me here."

"No. I can't. I will not leave you in that kind of situation." the face of this guy became sad and feel worried about Sandy.

"But you have to." Sandy insisted. She doesn't want to be burden someone like him. 

"No. I can't leave you here instead come with me." he got Sandy's arms that appeared to her with a surprise.

"We have the same situation." he started to tell his story. "My girlfriend left me and went with the other guy." he looked very serious at this time.

"She meets her childhood best friend." Sandy dazed for a while.

"My boyfriend too." 

"It doesn't mean that you will end your life for that stupid guy. You only live once but you can love for a second chance. Bear that on your mind, woman." he said with an authority that makes Sandy giggle.

"Why are you laughing? I am serious here," he exclaimed.

"None."

"I am telling you this because you are so dumb to commit suicide."

"Thank you."

"Anyway, what's your name?" 

They stopped walking along the street and planned to sit on the bench.

"I'm Sandy Zoriah." 

"I'm Harris Peterson, half American but lived in the Philippines since birth. My father is an American while my mother is Filipino-Bicolana." he introduced with a fake smile on his face.

He broke after they broke up with his girlfriend two weeks ago.

"You look more Filpino however."

He chuckled, "Yeah, that's true."

"I am living at the orphanage when my parents died in the airplane crash when I was 12 years old."

"I am sorry to hear that." 

"After I finished college, I settled to live independently by working as a crew in a few fast-food chains. After gaining more work experience, I planned to apply for office work and finally, I was qualified and got my job there."

She narrated the story while the guy beside her is very interested to hear the story.

"We meet there with my first boyfriend who first broke my heart." 

"Is he the guy you are referring to earlier?"

Sandy nodded without hesitation.

After their conversation, Harris drives her home.

"And now on we are now friends," Harris said with a smile on his face.

"I'm glad to be your friend," Sandy answered and afterward she bid goodbye to the guy and walked inside their house.

She has two maids working here who will take care of her house while she was at her work. Sandy doesn't want to stress more her life in doing household chores since she gained 50, 000 monthly salary as an executive secretary of the President of the company.

The following day, she meets again Harris in a mall. They greeted each other happily so they conclude to eat in a restaurant before they start enjoying the day.

After have eaten their lunch, they meet the ex-girlfriend and ex-boyfriend unexpectedly in the mall strolling around.

Gerald and Alliyah looked startled as they saw Sandy and Harris together.

"Long time no see, Harris. I didn't know that you can move on easily after we broke up." Alliyah said sarcastically that wanted them to frustrate but Sandy ignored it.

"And you..." referring to Sandy.

"I don't want to waste my life for that cheated guy." Sandy pointing out Gerald.

"I deserved more someone who would be loyal to me," she added.

"Alliyah, let's go." 

"No, Gerald. I just wanted to make this too ruined their day."

"For what Alliyah?"

Gerald secretly stared at Sandy's. The lady noticed it. 

"I want to show to them that they will not deserve to be happy," Alliyah said.

"What I did wrong to you uh? Why are you like that? Now tell me what are your reasons behind your being rude?"

"No. Stop this Alliyah. We have to go now."

Gerald persuaded his girlfriend to go away and left Sandy and Harris beside the bookstore.

"Are you alright?" the guy best friend of her's asked worriedly.

"I'm good. Thank you!" she replied with a fake smile on her face when Sandy met her ex-boyfriend.

She is not really ok after their breakup but trying to be brave to forget him now.

"Let's go in a hurry in the timezone."

She grabbed her hand by Harris to go inside the game store.

Afterward, they decided to go home before the evening comes. Sandy has a duty in the office tomorrow, therefore, she needed to take a rest.

Unfortunately, Gerald ran towards her and hugged her tightly.

"I am sorry Sandy for what I have done. Hoping that you would give me a chance."

Harris separated the two.

"Stay away from her." 

"She is my girlfriend and you don't have the right to say that."

Harris chuckled.

"I am not your girlfriend anymore, Gerald. You deserved that because you hurt me. You make me disappointed so you must stay away from me."

Then Sandy grabbed Harris's hand and walked away.

"No, Sandy! It's just a misunderstanding."

Gerald ran after them and he was suddenly surprised when he saw Sandy and Harris kissing in front of him. 

He looked very frustrated and walked away while the two still kissing passionately in public.
