Today Sucheta's result announced for medical entrance. This year she got admission in a government medical college for which she was preparing for three long years. Sucheta's mother Shalini will now be peaceful and satisfied, I think, because her sole aim of life was Sucheta's admission in medical college, now a days. But it was not so . I was her neighbour from last fifteen years. I never saw her in solace or satisfied. She is always dissatisfied for something or other. Sometimes she grieves that she has three sisters in law living in the same city. Their short visit to meet their mother, can mar her day and if they don't visit she will continuously blame them for ignoring their widowed old mother. Sometimes she becomes friendly to her neighbour and can do anything for them, next time she will return them for a single needle or Tulsi leaves from her plant.

Today Shalini ji is very happy, She is arranging a dinner party to celebrate her daughter's success. She invited me a day before and told me that she has invited a lot of people for dinner in the evening,next day when I reached to the party I thought I have arrived early, nobody was there except Shalini ji and her family . she even didn't call her mother in law when I asked about Mataji, she said that she will not be comfortable here though I knew she never allowed her mother in law to join any function in society it seems she is ashamed to introduce her in society. It is the height of moral degradation if we are embarrassed to introduce our parents . Mataji was a little deaf and was not very comfortable with the hearing aid, so she locks her in home whenever the whole family go somewhere.

I was expecting that her sisters in law will come as she told me earlier that she invited them too. But time passed and dinner started , nobody was there except Shalini' younger sister, me and one other family was there Shalini ji's husband was embrassed but Shalini started the shower of anger "All people are jealous of my daughter . I don't need any such relations. "But I know people join you in your sorrow willingly but your behaviour reflects in gathering of your happy occasion. Perhaps Shalini ji will understand .
