Cancer could affect my body but failed to affect my dreams and soul...Let the cat out of the bag!!

When I was 10 years old, I used to say that I am the happiest girl in this world. And why not? I am blessed with caring parents and all luxuries that one needs. When I turned into 11, I was surrounded by a daily fever, weakness, and headache. My father is a doctor, he tried his best to get rid of it. But things went deteriorating. I was unable to do anything, unable to walk, unable to eat. I didn't have such feeling ever before. I used to cry every night.

After 15 days, when my Daddy felt that it's been serious now as there's no improvement.

He decided to take me to the hospital. Next day at (around) 6:30. My mother sat next to me and started cuddling me. Suddenly, she felt something damn weird. She put her hand on my stomach and felt that the stomach became very solid.

I was not in the age to realize such things.

She called Dad and told him everything. At that moment, I had a strong feeling, I have lived my best part of life, “baby, time to aware with the worst”.

After a few hours, Daddy took me to the hospital. After a few check-ups like sonography, blood test, CT scan, I came out and started crying. I was feeling very low. It was just like a nightmare to me. I never thought this could happen to me.

After lunchtime, reports came and were damn absurd…

The doctor said, “she is suffering from Tumour”.

Daddy: Aap majaak kar rhe ho,ye sirf 11 saal ki he (means - Are you kidding me? She is just 11)…

I did not know, how dangerous this disease is.

I was just passing expressions that were full of sorrow. My dad was familiar enough to picture the consequences of this disease.

I said, “what? What did you just say?”

Doctor: Dear, it's a serious disease, did you ever hear about cancer?

I started crying after listening to the word. I felt it's time to leave the world. I said, “how many days are left”…

I asked this question because I watched Waqt-Race against time and honestly I didn't know anything about this disease, just had an illusion in my mind that it’s a way having a single destination which is death…

Doctor said it's the end of the second stage and it has grown too much, it's touching some organs too. I didn't get what he is talking about, but it seems like Daddy was getting everything. They asked for Daddy's signature on some agreement. After a few days, they took me to the OT and operation was successful, fortunately.

You can't even imagine that phase. I will elaborate on this incident someday else and in some other answer. One more twist, I was 11 and I was studying in 10th standard. I took admission from the third standard, directly. Don't be surprised, it's common. I have good grasping power.

After the day I operate, I insisted to the doctor that I have to go, I have to attend my board exams. He said, no you are not capable to walk, right now.

You can give your exams next year. Don't forget, health comes first. I started crying and asked to remove all the pipes from my body. He refused that day and left the room.

I tried to appease my Daddy and elder brother to get rid of this place for a few days. Next day, he (Dr.Shahid Qureshi, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai) permitted me to discharge and I kissed him, he was one of the best people I have ever met.

A person with zero ego. I still remember his smile, he used to pass while looking at me.

Finally, I went to my home. Attend exams and got first division (65%).

My Daddy was expecting 95+, when I started my studies for 10th, as I got 91.5 in my 8th and 93.7 in 9th.

Such results are responsible to enhance the expectations of the parent.

I am also a source of inspiration to my school mates and a few more…

This incident taught me many lessons but damaged one of my ovaries.

I am absolutely fine, now.

Never give up, you never know what tomorrow will bring...

This incident helped me to unleash my hidden potential.
