"Yesterday, while going to the market, I found a bag that was rolling crazily on the floor. l was so surprised to see it and felt as there was someone present in the bag. I went towards it and picked it up. As soon as I picked the bag l was astonished to see the bag moving in the air. I tried to hold it but could not handle it properly.

The bag had a pinkish shade on which was printed "WELCOME TO THE NEW WORLD". I collected my strength and finally decided to open it. As soon as, I opened it I was dumbstruck and my mouth hung lose from my chin, inside the bag was a beautiful baby girl dressed in a pink frock which seemed to be oversize. Her hair was a mass of blonde untangled curls which were put down together with band. Her shiny little boots were an addition to her attire. Her gleaming smile made her look like an angel from the heavenly abode.

Beside the baby was a small bag in which loads of toys were kept and a small note was pinned on it. The note read "My family didn't want a baby girl so, I left her abandoned on the street to die, as they won't accept her."

I was gobsmacked that even today in this modern era people believed in discrimination against gender. I was perplexed. My mind was wondering what to do next and I didn't knew when the bright morning turned into slothful noon. I finally decided to go to the nearby hospital to enquire about the baby. I went to the receptionist who recognised her tout de suite. I narrated the whole story to her who told me to consult the doctor who helped me to retrieve the address of the girl's home.

I quickly booked a cab and drove away to the address. When I reach there, I was amazed to see a sprawling mansion with about 10 to 20 sentinels guarding the villa. My eyes were dancing all around and suddenly fell on the name plate and I realised that it was the villa of one of the famous editor of leading newspaper, Mr Rao, I had met a few years ago as we were working together at a project on "Gender Equality".

The guards recognised me easily, as l was a frequent visitor to their home, they asked me to get my bag checked but l denied saying that it had some official papers. They allowed me to go in and I quickly rushed into the house. The aura of the house was very tensed and my presence made them feel a little lighter. As I asked them the reason for their tension, it was the same I had expected they were unhappy to have a baby girl and want a boy instead.

I quickly took my cell phone out of my pocket and showed him a click which which was the article on gender equality written by him. He himself had written that "A GIRL SHOULD BE LIKE A BUTTERFLY PRETTY TO SEE BUT, HARD TO CATCH. "

I expounded him that you are on the Earth due to a woman. A woman plays a pivotal role in a man's life.

He realised his mistake and regretted to his wife who became extremely happy but ,she was so sorry when she told her husband that she had left the baby abandoned in the nearby market. Suddenly her eye fell on the bag near me. l handed over the bag to the family who were elated to see the baby girl. l felt myself to be very fortunate to unite a family. ".. . . . I finished

Tears welled up my father's eyes, but still there was a grin of pride from his ear to ear.
