A Moment!

A bright sunny morning, time, 7:55 am. Sunlight was passing very brightly through the windows. Everyone was running in the corridor, loud talking noises were there as students were talking with their friends, the clock hit at 8:00 and the bell rang. Everyone walks to their classes. Miss. Ella,(teaches maths) enters the class “A1” with the first semester's results in her hands,

 

In an angry mood, while slamming the results on the table with force she said -

“Why isn't everyone silent every time I enter the class, you all keep talking and talking at least give time to your studies!"

Everyone was dead silent.

Then suddenly a Boy came running and stood still on the class door as soon as he reached the class. He stood there with a throbbing breath and heart he suddenly says -

“Umm...... Good morning mam I am Kai.....Kai Elrod, may I come in madam? ".

Miss Ella was already in a bad mood because of the semester results from the class and then Kai was late too,

While frowning at him she says -

 

" Look the king has arrived (with a heavy tone) coming sir we were waiting for you only everyone please stand up to greet the star of the day"

 

Everyone stood up and started clapping.

"Shut up you brats, sit down". Says Teacher Ella with a shocked face as students follow her sarcastic words.

Everyone starts chuckling and laughing out loud.

Miss Ella makes them pin-drop silent again and says to Kai-

"Come in and Go straight to your seat".

Like this time passed and lunch break arrived

Everyone start merging in the halls and their class and enjoyed the lunch and talked and gossiped

In the classroom behind the corner, there were three classmates playing with pens

“Wohhhhhh, Yes! I Won, I told you both I am the biggest player in the world”. – said Mira

“ok ok, no need to be so proud, it is just a game which we are playing for almost 5 years now, though you won for the first time ha-ha” - said Kai

“ok guys stop it look now, this is my time, this time I will win. You both just wait and watch” - said the third boy “Alex”

Everyone was gathering in the ground, here and there as everyone was supposed to go back to their homes as school ended at 12 in the afternoon so it was being. In the middle of that Mira, Kai and Alex were silently walking. Otherwise, they are happiest while returning home by the way who isn’t. This time something was going in their head but in reality, it was Mira and then she suddenly in a loud voice she says-

“I have got a brilliant idea, let’s just try it but no need to worry because, when I am here nothing goes wrong ha-ha believe me guys meet me at 3:00 in the afternoon at a coffee shop near to Alex house we three will meet there.”

“I knew it, whenever you are quiet you seriously cook something in your head, by the way, c’mon, not again last time we got into so much trouble because of you. I can’t do it anymore. Do it on your own if you want but I won’t come.” – said, Kai

 

“Actually, Kai, you are correct. Last time we got into so much trouble this time I am with you, bro!.”

Mira frowned at both of them and said-

“Oh! Hello, excuse me! What? Were you both troubled because of me? Don’t lie it was your fault because you took your pet with us the stupidity level you had that time Kai, was unbelievable, even after we told you should not.”

 

“and you Alex, don’t you remember that you yourself drank that hot coffee even after telling that is very hot and still you drank it and spillover”

“better you both don’t put off the blame or stuff that last time mostly you got troubled because of me, don’t you both dare!”

In response to this, both Alex and Kai responded and as usual, a heated argument started for over 30 minutes while going back to their homes and in the last three of them stopped at a restaurant. “Hey look this is the restaurant we always come to, and, and, our favourite chef and the owner of this restaurant uncle Sharma were such good friends of ours close to us. We haven’t met him for so long and came here for almost 1 month.

Though they were angry with each other, when the food of the restaurant came to mind they forgot everything. They enter the restaurant and saw a new staff which they never met before they said to each other -

“ Maybe if Sharma uncle left, we will miss him, we should have come earlier” - rather than asking the staff they saw the menu and got hungry. Alex pointed out Kai’s favourite dish and Mira pointed out Alex's favourite dish and Kai pointed out Mira’s. As soon as possible they saw each other’s favourite dishes in less than a minute they called the waiter to order their food, the thing was that they forgot about the fight they had for almost 25 minutes, as Said- ‘when there is love and closeness in the heart then nothing from outside can make friends apart’.

After finishing their food in the restaurant two of them walked out - Mira and Alex, Kai noticed both of them and asked -“ why the hell are you both leaving who’s going to pay the money for the food didn’t we plan that every time either we three going to divide the money equally and pay or someone’s turn, as now if we are not willing, so according to turn it is your chance Mira, so now who is going to pay, one an only - Mir......”

As soon Kai could complete his words both of them shouted in response to who is going to pay money-

“you Kai you” ha-ha.

“Run bro Run, this is the time to save us ha-ha” – said Mira 

“correct, bro let’s gooooooo”.-said Alex

They both Ran to the nearest park as soon as possible

“oh, hello where are you both going this is not fair, you immature. Just wait and watch”. Said Kai while shouting at top of his voice as he saw both of them leaving.

“Hey Kai, anything happened kid why did they both run away, by the way, it’s been so long we have met. Aunty Sara kept talking about you she missed you three very much, come-come sit here tell me what happened”- he took Kai to a seat and made him sit there

Kai was still baffled, zoned out and seemed angry while looking the way Mira and Alex left the store. He didn't care about the man’s voice and made his way to his seat. That man-made him sit. Then he looked towards the old man as he zone in and asked who are you and why you made me sit here?

“Kai you forgot me, and by the way, you were shouting at the top of your voice when Mira and Alex left the store what happened???”

Kai looked towards him for a minute and then he said-

In an amazing move and voice “Uncle Sharma you, how are you? It's been so long since I met you, oh my god when we three came here we saw new staff and members. We thought you must have left this store so we thought about not confirming and taking what we saw. Those two idiots (Mira and Alex) left, luckily I am here to meet you. I am feeling so happy. What about Aunty Sara, how's she, is she here?” –Kai got so much excited and forgot about the anger he had as after so long he met uncle Sharma and couldn’t keep himself calmed he kept going and kept going and in response to this Uncle Sharma said-

“oho Kid stop it, drink some water calm down ha-ha ha-ha, you are lovely by the way I had some important work to do so I asked some staff members to look after the customers, so I went outside, as staff members are old just you three came after so long so ya, by the way, aunt Sara is at home today I will be closing the shop early so you should come with me to home I will call Sara to make you delicious food just give me a minute....”

 

As soon, uncle, Sharma could complete his word Kai responded-

 

“NO, No uncle not today, as time is very much our school ended at 12 pm and its already 1:15 mom would be angry more and secondly those two are also not here how come I can go without them, I am sorry by the way meeting you after so long is a pleasure. Next time I will come with Mira and Alex. Thank you for your invitation.”

“Look, I don’t know what happened between you three but still seeing how you care about them and not going somewhere else without them, shows a great sign of friendship you three have. God bless you three never let go of this friendship and no need of sorry you should go home and feel free to visit here and our home you three anytime ok after all that home is your home too”, “ you should leave for now ok be careful and tell those two to take care of themselves too”.

“Thanks a lot, uncle for understanding, I will surely visit you and Aunt Sara with those bastards I-I means Mira and Alex ha-ha such a good friendship, take care of yourself too uncle bye-bye and ya this is the bill I am sorry and food was awesome as usual”

“It's ok, no need for paying, and take care of yourself and be slowly on the road bye love you” – said uncle Sharma while seeing Kai leaving the restaurant.

“Such a lovely boy and those two, hope so I will meet two of them too god bless these three”- uncle Sharma

“You, come and eat fast and go to bed early, you know how much I have to handle after your mom died, I know I miss her very much too and as she was your mother you too but dear I have to go to work at 5 am in the morning and come at 8 pm and prepare food and do extra work I get tired, it would help if you try to do something by yourself too it will help. I am not trying to put pressure on you. I hope you understand. By the way, I prepare your favourite food today”-said Alex fathers

 

“ya, dad I would help you, these days exam is going on so I didn’t get time to think about these I am sorry from tomorrow I will start doing”

 

Both of them finished their food, Alex went to his room and sat on the bed while looking outside the window feeling cold wind and looking towards the moon.

Then suddenly his father entered his room

“Alex, what are you thinking?”

Alex flinched and looked towards his dad and said

‘Nothing much, just thinking about Maa, how every night she used to give a message to me and sat beside me while I was sleeping. Sometimes I wonder why this happens to me only but then I remember I have you, Mira, Kai. But still”

‘It’s okay, I also miss her so much sometimes I ended up crying to myself, but then I remember I have ......you hah. Life is like this only we came with nothing and will go with nothing but will leave the memories to others, which will make us alive in their memories, I know how it feels to not have a mother and lose her at an early age, your grandmother died when I was just in the First standard but It’s okay Now we can do is to have her in our memories and move on and focus on present what happened, happened we can’t do anything, whatever happens, is for reason. I read somewhere that rather than saying, ‘why this happened to me, you should say, and ‘what is this teaching me’. Do your best, ok? Study and be the one you want to be. Anything happens. I am still here, come anytime to ask anything. Now you have me and I have you son we two have to be on each other side also I am getting older never know what can happen, you should be powerful on your own too dear this world is cruel, there are people who take advantage from innocent people, have a good rest and before sleep remember what you did today and all good thoughts remember – ‘If you focus on the hurt, you will continue to suffer. If you focus on the lesson, you will continue to grow. Good Night.

‘Hey, hold on stay there, why are you running so fast, 15minutes are still left” – Said Mira

‘Are you still angry about yesterday? come one we are friends like this fun happens bro, chill by the way yesterday me and Alex did a race it was so much fun, you should have been also there your must have felt nice but you were busy paying bills and talking to the staff, still we had every much fun’

 

‘Yo!, guys, wait I am also coming, Hey, Kai how was the experience of yesterday after paying bills?’

“HA-HA-HA-HA-“ – After hearing this Mira laughed out very loudly

Kai glared at Mira like he was about to murder her, Kai was in very anger but

“Laugh, as much as you both can because what I am about to tell you will leave your mouth open not for laughing but to say – “why us?”

Yesterday after you both went and left me to pay bills, I met Uncle Sharma, And we talked about many things he even invited me to his house to eat food made by Aunt Sara, but I didn’t go because of you both otherwise I would have gone thinking about it makes me regret I should have gone”- Said Kai

“Come on, Didn’t you wash your face this morning that you're saying rubbish”-Said Alex

“You shut up Alex, Kai, why didn’t you call us? How can you be like this aren’t we your friends? By the way thanks for not going to eat if you would have right we both were have killed you”

``Oh!, really this thing I should ask myself yesterday, ‘Are we friends?’ when you both left me.

`` Guys leave it now whatever happened, ‘Uncle Sharma invited us’, he invited us, after so long we will be meeting him. Let's forget and after school in the evening let's go, let's meet near the bus station near my house, oh! Only 2 minutes are left let's run to classes otherwise mom will scold us, bye”- Said Alex

“Nia stand up and translate this English sentence to French which is written on the board, quickly”

“ Am, mam it would be – ‘elle avait prévu de la tuer et à la fin elle a réussi? Is it correct?

‘yes, very good sit down though this was an easy one, today I will give you all a 3-page English paragraph you all have to translate it into French ‘in front of me’ because I know how smart are you all are take the page to home and open Google and translate if you all are smart then I am smarter than you all”, so be ready tomorrow”- Said Miss. Natasha ( French teacher)

‘nooooooo, I barely know anything in this language god knows in these 7 years I have passed how and when in French papers”

Like this time went by and English period arrived

“GOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD MORNINGGGGGGGGGG MAM” – Said the students in a singing tone

‘You all grownups, seriously doing this, sit down”

“I thought why not today lets conduct a small activity for fun, It speaks a paragraph about your best friends but it should not be like a third grader writing it in 10 minutes complete it, quick fast”

‘She is saying don’t write like a third grader but give an activity of class 1, these days teachers are just”-

After 10 minute

“Yes, Mira you come”

“Yes mam”

“Ok so, everyone stays quiet and let's listen to what Mira has prepared for her friends”, “you can start Mira”

“ In this world, the most important to us are our parents, and then friends. To me both are important. My friends are many but some are so close that they mean the world to me, ‘Kai and Alex’, One of my best friends who is just the world to me. We can do anything for each other, anything means anything.” There's a saying -: “close friends are truly life’s treasures. Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us, to share our laughter and our tears. Their presence reminds us that we are never really alone” I would say it is true, whenever I feel alone I remember our memories and when we are together I forget all pain. I am blessed to have them, Thank you.”

After hearing this there was 5-second silence and then by the time Mira reached her seat everyone including the teacher started clapping even her most close friends Alex, Kai too.

“What a wonderful speech”, brilliant, Mira keep it up such a lovely speech it was, I felt very happy to listen to it” - Said Miss. Natasha

“So, as you talked regarding friendship and your both two friends I would like to ask Alex or Kai what you too prepare, I mean as you friend Mira did I expect similar from you, what you say?”

“Mam, if you expect something similar from me then I would say what Mira said the same I was about to say too, you know friends know each other as she mentioned that in her speech so if I would say it again same it will be a waste of time to re-speak it, you know?” - Said Alex 

“Same mam I also want to say the same as Mira and what Alex said is true too, see Alex knew what Mira want to say I knew what Mira and Alex want to say, so I would say that like this you can the friendship connection of us three.”- Said Kai in a bold voice

Everyone started laughing and also Teacher Natasha just seemed done from both of them and regards to this she said-:

“Really?, you both just wait and watch, God knows what will happen to you, ha-ha, ok ok understood your three’s friendship connection, Anyone else would like to present.”

Like this English period got over too and School ended.

As planned, three of them met each other in the evening at the bus stop. Kai was a bit late so they were 5 minutes late but hopefully, they were able to climb on the bus.

“Hey! Alex, bro it's been 2 years since we haven’t met or contacted, how are you?” - Said Susan, one of his friends who left the country and settled in Australia 4 years ago and came back to her birth country for vacation.

“Susan!, It's been so long”

Both of them hugged each other emotionally as both of them were close friends from childhood.

“Ha-ha!, it's so good to see you both together hmm, btw you should sit at your place I mean you would fall that's why oh! Look that closer seat is empty you can sit here”-said, Mira

“Hey! You have to sit down otherwise you will fall” - Said the bus driver angrily.

“By the way how about your family? Is everyone doing well?, btw when you come here from Australia?”

“Everyone is fine, thank you for asking, Mumma asked me to call you and check updates about you after so long it has been but I didn’t have your number but luckily hah. By the way, only this week I come from Australia. By the way, I was going to meet my aunt I was at this bus stop only from here it goes only I haven’t met her for so long so ya, though I was sitting in the back saw you and your friends, your voice and face looked similar so I just came to check a bit closer and then found out it was you only by the way are these your classmates or”

“Yes, these are my classmates and one of my best friends, you are also too ha-ha, by the way, if you haven’t come to check I would have also not found out about you.”

“By the way where are you three going”

“We often visit one restaurant. It's our favourite one. The owner of the restaurant is like our uncle and his wife is like our aunt. Both of them treat us three like family. We haven't met him and her for so long so they invited us to their house for dinner so we were going there only.” - Said Mira

Little did She know what She asked could make that sweet guy teared up but it wasn't his fault either. For some second it was dead silence in the atmosphere. Then suddenly Kai spoke up -

“His mother is no anymore in this world”

After hearing these words Alex couldn’t stop but cried his eyes out.

“I……I am sorry bro I didn’t know it I am sorry”- Said Susan having water in his eyes.

“It’s alright, It's not your fault, but it was the fault of one who did it and if I found who was he/she will be dead from my hands”. Said Alex with anger while crying.

“Does that mean………………… She was murdered? But how is that possible? such a sweet lady she was, what was her fault?

“Yes, she was murdered, sweet she was but one who killed her was harsh, leave it, bro, after so long you have come, it's alright and as you talked about food, my father also prepares wonderful food you should come a day after tomorrow I will prepare myself too”

“No No, It's okay you can share with me anytime now I am here..”

As soon as Susan could complete her words their stop arrived but the thing was four of them had the same stop coincidentally.

“Stop no.3, Kindly step outside your stop has arrived”

“OH!, is stop has arrived let's goo”

“Is this yours too because mine is this too, wow what a coincidence”

“Oh my god!, that's awesome”

All of them got out of the bus. Mira, Alex and Kai went straight to the bouquet shop to take some flowers for Uncle Sharma and aunt Sara.

After a while, they reached their home, knocked on the door 

“Oh!, go and open the door and it looks like kids have arrived, fast, fast!”

“Ya ya, I am going you go and check the food and all”

“Woah, uncle Sharma, aunt Sara , I am so happy to meet you, I mean we all”

Like this Alex showed his love towards them together with Mira and Kai, they entered inside and settled on the dining table. 

“Oho, my lovely kids, so long, fast, food is getting cold.sit here then we'll talk I have so much to talk to you all. I have prepared so much for you to eat,”

Like this, they finished their food and then settled on the divan.

“Oh!, looks like someone is on the door let me go, you all talk”

Sharma uncle opened the door

“Susan!”Said uncle loudly in a happy tone.

“When you came back oh my god, at least you should have messaged me, come inside”

“Look who arrived!?, Our lovely Susan, Sara come here”

“Susan my lovely, it's been so long, how are your parents? Did they arrive with you too or?” 

The time aunt Sara could complete her words Susan replied-

“ yes!, they did too they were busy a bit I know its a bit awkward to say as we came back after so long but they told me to give you this gift in this there is a letter too, they also asked to tell you both that they will be arriving next week and will be staying with you too, only the time there are not leaving to Australia and everyone is fine and by the way is there someone also came today?, by the way here is a bouquet I heard you both like same flowers so I brought this one hope you like it”

In reply to this both of them together said-

“Obviously we will be liking it. How could you say that ha-ha, by the way, yes! today someone arrived though they are not biological our kids have arrived. I know you must be confused there just so lovely that it feels like there are my own kids”

“Come, let me introduce you to them, I am just so stupid that didn’t ask you to come in, now let's go”

The time Mr & Mrs Sharma were talking to Susan, three of them were talking to each other -

“This voice sounds familiar right?”

“Your ears are of a monkey or what?”

“Are your eyes of a bat or something”

“Ha? how came it make sense? non-sense”

“Oh really? saying to others is fine but when the same comes back to you you are dying. Idiot”

Both Mira and Alex started bickering Kai got angry and said-

“Just shut up!, don’t you both have manners, seriously, I mean it is not our business to see who we know, who is coming, stop fighting, but ya it sounds familiar”

“This idiot is an idiot but you are more than him”

“Enough yarr! Let's keep quiet. Who cares whosoever is coming but I only care about food, but it is finished, hey! After this will go out to eat more”

“Are you a human or animal?”

Like this, as usual, it went on then Susan and Mr & Mrs . Sharma arrived

“Ah!~, my dear kids look this is my cutie niece, it is so nice to have you three and her here, Dear lovely Susan these are lovely kids, you all this is us, Ha-Ha”

As soon as Susan and Kai, Alex and Mira made eye contact towards each other mostly Alex screamed in a loud voice-

“YOU!”

Mr & Mrs Sharma Got scared as if they saw a ghost

“Calm down, Calm down my kids why are you screaming have you all met before if yes then let's dance if no then also let's dance”

“What are you saying shut up”

Alex said -

‘Yes, we have met before coming here, on the bus before coming here we were on the same bus she reached out to me then you know, we talked and shared the feelings and all then after stepping on the stop she said she has to go visit some relative we all took different paths but we didn’t know we will end up being here together.’

“Ah!, ya correct this all what happened there hmm”

“Fine fine, let's settle down”

Everyone settled down and started to talk whatever they can ask each other then suddenly - 

“Oh!, I just forgot my little bag at bouquet it had some important cards oh my, how can I do this, I am so stupid’- said, Mira 

“ ah! How can you do this, I told you to look there if you have missed something”- said, Alex

“It's not your fault it's okay now what happened it would be better we should go and find it”- said, Kai 

‘Come let’s go we should go and check maybe by chance it is still there or…”- Said Kai 

“How can you say that say positively it may be there, by the way, let's go” - Mira

“I will go with her you stay here only”- said, Alex 

“I am going, why are you making a fuss we are not going at a press conference or somewhere at a big event you stay here I am going and”

“Oh!, ok ok go fast”

Kai and Mira left and Alex was with Susan and elders at home so they started to talk

“By the way, I have no right to say such things but has anything happened in the case of your mother? I was worried these days. I mean we haven’t met so I wasn't able to ask anything about it. She was such a lovely lady and she deserves the right, so when is the next date ?”

“Ah! Come one he has come after so long and you too I know it's hurting to you Alex but still, we are worried, let's leave these tell us how was the food 50% I made”

“It was brilliant, and the thing about maa, Whenever I think about that scene at one side it makes me cry and one side makes me seriously so badly murder that Bast-, sorry”

“By the way the date was given of 13 November means after 1 month, I trust you all so I am telling you all these things, oh looks like they have arrived”

“Ya!, we are here and no worries the owner noticed and kept it with herself thankfully she was nice otherwise people these days”- Said, Kai

“Oh, ok ok, we got leave it now”- said Mira

“That’s good to hear”

Like this it was 19:00, time flies fast, they all had a wonderful day like this Susan, Alex, Kai and Mira left their house and went to their homes, as they came they went. Through in the last Mira and Alex, we were together as both of theirs homes were on the same road. 

“Hey!, Sorry to ask you suddenly but how’s the case going on, any updates about it, seriously I feel bad for your mother and you and uncle on that day I and kai were not there if were there we must have done something to help must it was her’

‘Sorry but would you just keep quiet

“Ya ya, I was just asking sorry”

“Oh! Your home, Good night see you and kai tomorrow”

“Bye-bye, good night, Take care”

As their exams were going on too time went by like this being here and then and the day arrived ‘13th November it was the last day of hearing those who were close to Alex’s family they arrived too but Kai and Mira didn’t as they were busy here and there but they planned to arrive somewhere in between.

“Hey! Hi”- said, Susan

“Hi, let's go, it's about to start, by the way, thanks for coming and taking out time for this”

“How could you say that, for my friend how I can not adjust or take out time, you are just, let's go”

‘Order-order!, sit down everyone, hmm, so it is 13 November 2019 case of “Miss.Helen”, as we know in past hearing what happened after looking into that we decided to move its date for today and it's the day today so why to make it late so let's start Mr Valia you are from Helen's side and you Mr Oberoi you are from opponents side, so let's begin”

“Your honour, that night nights camera footage was revealed when I was checking I noticed something I would like yo show to it to the court, may I”

“Sure”

After looking at the footage everyone was confused that night a man was passing by who went inside and came out while running, though the before and after running of man footage was not there so it gave chance to the lawyer of Miss. Helen to question the opponent

“Your honour, Mr Oberoi seriously took a part of some here and their clips and showed here let me tell you what exactly happened the footage before of the man coming was not there and after running one was also not there what if, the murderer killed her before it something to camera then after killing her ran away and then fixed the camera so according to this maybe that man must be someone close to there family or wanted to ask for something looking his body language it doesn’t look like or maybe if he went in after seeing her dead body he ran away” that's all I can say”

“Makes sense”

“So, Mrs Oberoi anything to say though I kind of agree with Mr Valia”

“Mam this is straight away all lie they are trying to make my client look like a criminal which is true I mean not true”

‘Your honour, I would like to bring someone to the witness box, may I?”

‘Hmm”

“She won’t be showing her face though because she will tell the truth tonight, she was ready to do it like this I agreed and”

“Fine Mr Valia, you ask her to come, but”

The judge stopped at a moment and said

“The person who is gone is gone what we can do is to give there right and try not to let it happen to others, Anything can happen anytime, ‘A moment can change everything’, Two-person who were enemies can be lovers in a moment due to something, A person who has a meeting soon is 1 minute late which cause him worse in a moment. ‘Yes your honour, Miss please tell the court the truth”

“I am the murderer of Miss. Helen”

Everyone in the courtroom was shocked, Susan went out of the courtroom. 

“On that night I killed her, I seriously loved Alex so much that can't even explain, in words I used to come to His home, but his mother didn’t let me meet him because she said every time he has to tuition or here and’ “while hearing this Alex couldn’t handle his tears and was about to beat this person but Uncle Sharma and his father handled him 

The murderer continued
