You Promised Not To Cry
You Promised Not To Cry
I have been bedridden for some time you see,
But you have spared enough time to look after me.
You were there always at my side.
My friend philosopher and guide.
I think of my life without you, about my fears,
If you were not there to pacify me, to wipe my tears.
You could have also left me and gone your way.
But instead, you decided to nurse me, to stay.
You sacrificed everything, with so much life ahead of you.
But you proved to be always true.
But you also promise me you will not cry.
When I finally will die.
I only wait for death to release me,
So you can also be free.
For you proved to me you don't need;
To be bonded by blood, to do a good deed.
Life is short you don't know, whom you will need,
Might need stranger too, to do you a good deed.
