The New Year was lonely without you at Midnight

I just stared out the window with thoughts of you and I

I glance at the calendar as I daydream of days to come

My heart was not filled completely like when we're together

But even roses are surrounded by thorns at times

My mind plays tricks on me thinking I see you at a glance

And for a few moments I think it is you coming towards me
