Without Books
Without Books
Man evolved books,
The aim being his bottled,
Pent up feelings,
Were to be vented;
His creative genius
And scintillating gem-like thoughts
Were to illumine his dark
World of despair and dejection;
His life of tyranny, injustice
Oppression and pain
Was to be replaced
By one of happiness, self-respect,
Liberty and freedom,
His indisputable due;
Books have brought about revolutions,
Books are our best companions
Books are our best weapons.
They make us laugh;
They make us cry;
They make one's conscience revolt,
Without books this world
Is like a desert,
No matter whether they are
Paper books or e-books,
They are definitely
Going to be there.
