Wings to Fly

Just a thought floating towards my horizon,

Till the unreachable destination that I cannot see,

I trudge, slowly by slowly, foot by foot, enslaved,

And I ask myself this why.

Why am I enslaved when I can be free,

Why do I walk when I can fly,

Why is the world dark when I can see,

Why am I silent when I can scream?

Shouldn't my shackles be broken,

Shouldn't my wings be given dreams,

Shouldn't I cry by my screams,

Shouldn't my world be more than it just seems?

Can't I reach for the stars,

Can't I see beyond my bars,

Can't I say more when I want,

Why shouldn't you be here when I can't?

Be here to set me free,

Be here to hear me speak,

Be here to make me see,

Make me see,

Make me understand,

Why did you do this to me?

When I sacrificed everything for you,

For I knew you would be watching.

Why didn't you do this for me?

When that was all I wanted from you,

And I knew you had the answer.

My rage pours

And overflows

It takes control

Makes me wish

That I never wished

What I never thought

Makes me regret

What I never did.

But I will fly,

For my wings are not broken yet,

Out of the shackles over the horizon,
