Why does the moth love fire?

Is it avarice, the thrill of the chase, or desire?

Is it the warmth that attracts it, the light, or the searing pain?

Maybe it has begun to realise that hurting feels better than feeling nothing at all,

So it craves the ache.

It craves burnt wings, it craves not being able to fly, it feels better than nothingness after all.

The void calls, and the moth flies right into the fire.

Little does it know that ceasing to exist is tantamount to existing non-existently, because Nothingness knows how to transcend barriers.

Nothingness circumvents the flimsy curtain separating life and death.

And then like a parasite, it clings on to other moths from behind,

Making them think the void calls them too.

The moth doesn't love fire.

It is only hypnotised by fire, waiting for someone to call its name.
