Where were you, when I needed you?

Were you hiding in the back?

Hoping I’d cut you some slack?

Do you think if you wash your hands enough times;

You’ll rid yourself of the horrible things you’ve done?

Who was the one that believed in you?

I told you we would get through this together

I told you things no one else knew

You took those secrets that were close to my heart;

And spun a lie

To fit your selfish pride

You said you could read me like a book

Then you put me on the shelf;

And never took another look

You swept me off my feet

Just to throw me in the fire

Now I see;

Why everyone called you a liar

But I am not a building to be burnt down

I am the ashes that will rise from the ground

To become fireworks over your night sky
