What War Does To Us
What War Does To Us
The world went up in flames
Fire was met with fire
They fought to save,
But they died of hate
And when it ended,
The battlefield went cold
Haunted by the screams of those
Who never got to grow old.
The Great War was over
Leaving in its wake a sea of mourners
Women widowed and children orphaned
What good is this peace,
If there's no love to share it?
In the end,
We may never know
If the fire was worse
Than the ice so cold.
