We Are The Future They Say

Most of us have been lied to, cheated on,

And are sad that our beloved fake friends are gone. 

Some are confused and some act confused, 

And at some point we have all felt used. 

Just love yourself as God's creation, 

And let's stop this drive of seeking validation. 

Living with masks of smiles over melancholy, 

We could get rid of this pessimism 

If we only chose to be optimistic and jolly. 

All our heartbreaks and failed connections, 

Occurred to remind us that we still have options. 

Our heads held high with self contentment, 

And no one paying heed to criticism and judgement.

We are the future they say, 

Lets begin to become that ray of hope today.
