I Too Have A Dark Side

I’m not all roses and beauty,

At times I run from duty

I have a fear of expectations and 

Uncontrollable anxiety.

I keep assuming, you want to take me for a ride,

Let me tell you 

I too have a dark side.

I say I am complete and strong 

But I have been craving love and attention 

For too long,

I’m not a starry night or a sweet song.

Self created storms, take time to subside 

Let me tell you 

I too have a dark side.

I don’t always glow,

I’m mostly lazy, tired and slow

I panic when one would go with the flow.

Frequently, I let out the anger I say I hide
