Wake Up
Wake Up
Could this, - life, our day to day, be of an illusion.
Birthed in a mirage, -is this a conclusion, to confusion
Some would say, Yes- life is but a dream
Others sunken,- deeper in slumber
Not aware, of such a thing.
I watch, -as others pass by
A glossy stare,- sealed over their eyes
Controlled by time, - controlled by money
As time tics away,- we fly towards honey
-As we wander, throughout life..
This sleep,- that comes
Isn't just by night
It's cousin is death, - to some, it may fright
Awakened to life, - in the midst of, a morning light.
-but a dream,
- twas an illusion
Lessons we learn
Only if we chose them
So -- row, row, row your boat-
Gently down the stream
Awaken in this lifetime, -to
bring about meaning.
"You can't wake a person who pretends to be asleep."- Navajo Probverb
