Vices

My vices like shadow are behind me 

Follow me to the end of day 

Until drowned in darkness and guilt 

So dark and devoid of light ray. 

 

Everything now grows distant 

Creating a chasm of mistrust. 

Not the same feelings anymore 

Like glistening iron now rust. 

 

I hope I find myself again 

And someday find myself free

And rise up from this madness 

Consumed by my own decree.
