To Love the Ordinary
To Love the Ordinary
I gave the world my best, but they proved to me that;
My 'best' to them was just the rest of all that was left.
But, even after all those opinions they had,
Of me to share;
I had you, for the pain,
That I wanted to spare.
They called me names;
And played betraying games,
Shut me down and cut me out.
As if; I caused all the mistakes and crimes,
But you gave me back,
The soul of mine.
While in this world,
I looked for love,
Everywhere I could go; but,
All I could receive was sorrow.
But, when I met you,
I realized;
Realized that love,
Is all around!
That love is not to be searched for,
But to be found.
Found in the least expected things,
Whether it be heart strings or paper rings.
You made me realize that;
Love has no boundary or rule;
That it can make people fall,
No matter;
Loving or cruel.
You made me believe in myself;
And I realized my worth,
And that I wasn't just a curse.
People often fall in love;
Either with the wise or with the beautiful,
But even then,
I fell for someone ever so simple.
And maybe,
For the world,
That was something so extraordinary,
That it was nothing normal;
Normal to love you;
The common.
To consider you worthy,
Or to want you beside me.
If they were more than "plain and simple",
I would gladly accept that,
I was below them.
Because, after all,
You made me realize,
That even a broken stem,
Is peaceful to look at.
And at the end; I would agree that -
"It is ordinary to love the beautiful but;
It is beautiful to love the ordinary!"
