Tick -Tock, Tick -Tock,

I see the hands move on the clock.

I wish I could hold these hands so tight,

And stop them from ticking all day and night.

Time is flying so very fast,

Just give me one chance, to relive the past.

Oh, how I wish I could turn back time,

But since I can't, I write this rhyme.

Time doesn't cost, it's totally free,

But yet it's absolutely priceless, you see.

Time is something you cannot own,

But yes, you can use it in the best way known.

Time once lost, will never come back,

So please make sure you're on the right track.

Geetika mam, I cherish every moment that I spend with you,

Every moment is so precious, so memorable and so true.

With you around, I feel secure and fine,

So will you teach me Maths in Std nine?

If you say "yes", then without any fear,

I am waiting to enter class nine next year.

But if you say "no", then time has to wait,

So I can stay forever in Std eight!

(This poem is dedicated to my Maths Teacher "Geetika mam" from whom I studied the entire Maths syllabus of Std 6, 7 and 8. However, she does not teach this subject in Std 9 and 10. She is a teacher par excellence and hence, I will really miss her!)
