This Is Me

This Is Me

Look into my eyes

Can you see

The many faces

That make up me.

You only see what I choose to show,

The pain deep inside you may not know.

A pretty face, but innocence lost,

If there was a price, I paid the cost.

My heart was full of love to give,

But every day I struggle to live.

Inside my head there’s a beautiful mind,

I try everyday to be kind.

The words I say are honest and true,

I might be harsh, but I

won’t lie to you.

My hands are soft but firm,

They work hard for money to earn.

My feet are usually swollen and they always hurt,

I stand on them all day at work.

My will is a force many can’t believe,

I will fight to the end, I will never leave.

I don’t have much trust in what people say,

Actions only pave the way.

There is so much about me that you don’t know,

If you don’t care to see it, you are free to go.
