The Wrinkles of Life..

The Wrinkles of Life..

I stared blankly at the passing traffic,

In pensive thought yet joyous crumbs,

We have the time yet we err,

In chasing butterflies, of nebulous kind.

The wrinkles of life,

Makes us surf the trough and crest,

The sunshine and the darkness,

We smile, cry or in pain,

The circumstances are beyond us,

We manage while in the moment,

In denial or to embrace,

But we cannot ignore.

We all need a piece of sky,

An ache to be recognised,

Even though sandcastles are ephemeral,

Yet to blossom, even for a while,

Justifies one's existence,

Just an epitaph,

That I too was here once.

When the hands of men interfere,

The history of ourselves,

Becomes walking on a path defined,

The pain of Partition,

Still seeps down generations,

When even decent dignity of life,

As we take for granted,

Was a utopian dream,

A Shangri la unattainable.

Such are the wrinkles of life,

Beyond our control,

Yet ruling our lives,

In ruins or in castles,

Is the toss of a coin,

A piece of bread or cakes,

Is a shadow play of fate.

A child seeking his parents,

A farmer looking at the skies,

A train passing by, which if taken,

A regret, or remorse, in many souls,

The dark silent woods, the lashing rains,

The message written by time,

The show has to go on, it will go on,

Keeping one's faith or doubting it,

Such are the wrinkles of life.
