The Universal Anti‑Laughter Act

No smile shall stretch, no chuckle be heard,

By decree of the council, laughter’s deferred.

Nitrous oxide, once joy’s delight,

Is banned as rebellion against the night.

The sun must shine with solemn face,

The moon shall orbit with measured grace.

Clouds may gather, but never in jest,

Stars must twinkle in silence, suppressed.

Children forbidden to giggle in play,

Adults must frown through each passing day.

Comedians jailed for crimes of mirth,

Joy outlawed across the Earth.

And should a whisper of laughter arise,

Galaxies tremble, the cosmos denies.

For beyond the universe, silence is law,

A smile is rebellion, a laugh is a flaw.
