The Thirsty Monsoon
The Thirsty Monsoon
A thirsty monsoon in the eyes, and restless clouds above,
Hearing the soft footsteps of rain, the heart found peace and love.
The evening turned all drenched and sweet, she smiled with quiet grace,
The scent of wet earth quenched the soul, in a tender, deep embrace.
Peeking behind a veil of clouds, the charming moon shone through,
The raindrops played a melody, with the earth they loved so true.
The kadamba branches swayed in joy, the intoxicating breeze blew free,
The monsoon wrote a tale of union, on every leaf of every tree.
Branches swing like carefree swings, as the gentle drizzles sing,
In the quiet courtyard of the heart, memories of the beloved spring.
Into "Murali’s" quiet, lonely heart, the monsoon poured vibrant art,
In this parched and yearning season, dreams bloomed within the heart.
