The Safe Choice
The Safe Choice
Time and again, I revisit
Those by lanes of old
Only to see if the roads still seem rocky
And the windows still closed
Were there any doors I could have knocked
To take refuge in a storm
Any broken pathway
That would have taken me home
If I had dared, to rattle your locks
Would you have sheltered me then?
I doubt if you could have
When you were yourself lost in the rain
So I return back to today
Where the roads seem smooth and fine
And I close the windows and cruise along
Following the same designated line
