THE MAZE OF PAIN

THE MAZE OF PAIN

1 min
7.2K

I tried and cried,

Couldn’t see for my eyes lied,

Waited to be torn apart,

For then be left to breathe.

Breathed hard, while still in sleep,

Because my soul was in grief,

While asleep my eyes wept,

Wept of pain and anguish.

My toes were cramped,

Cramped up to the thigh,

I wrestled in my dream, trapped,

Trapped so, couldn’t raise my head high.

Far in my dream I was drawn,

Drawn into sky, dark and tenebrous,

To run down with rain,

With a hope to sprout again.

Escape was clear and still,

To run away lest only the hill,

Ran, ran and still I ran,

But maze of pain wrecked me back to feel.

Hope importunes now to fade out,

Heart of mine was left to yell and shout,

How could I have explicated any less,

For it was pain’s only tout.

Love, hatred, anger were at peak,

My mind ceased and body was sick,

Who to seek and where to hide,

For I was the snake in a bird’s beak.
