The Spring

Strange it was the sun so grew,

Never it knew how the snow flew,

Was I really dreaming

Or the breeze actually flew.

Long gone the summer,

Passed by the winter,

Waiting was I, waiting am I,

Came never the spring, it was again summer.

Should I still wait,

For the spring to soothe,

or should I accept the fate

that has doomed me to forget.

Bloomed a flower again with odor,

I did behold it,

But it lacked the old color

and yes it lacked the lost valor.

I know I have been sleeping,

With miles to reach before waking,

Never could I be stopped

From my dreams hankering.

Then gradually it felt the same,

Came autumn with flower of spring,

And the breeze and smell and all that came,

But again, the spring never came.

Mind said move on it was time,

But heart never let go,

there was a fight for I did the crime,

They fought on, I stayed with my rhyme.
