The Love-shaped Tree

Every day they came to the tree

And talked sweet nothing into each others ears

Everyday the tree would overhear

And be amused

Everyday the lover boy

Stayed back a few minutes and shaped the tree

Everyday the tree unhappily lost

Numerous branches to the cutters glee

One day they had a fight

And stopped their meeting midway

The same day the tree

Contemplated the situation sadly

The next day there was no meeting

But the boy came to the tree to give up his life

The girl followed too, and joined him immediately

But the tree remained, reshaped now as a heart of the eternal love
