The Ladder Of Life

The Ladder Of Life

The serene moment of awe,

Clasped with soft wispy smiles

It looks all a haze at first,

When you enter the maze of life.

Your fingers seem to move on their own,

Your legs feel as if they can fly

You jump, you scream, you cry

Tears and saliva-- all bundled with your toys

Time seems to wind faster,

The hands of clock moving forward.

Heart beats palpating, cheeks glowing

And before you know, you are young

Memories and experiences make way

You don't know whether it's night or day

lass="ql-align-justify">Life seems a thrill.

Then the clock slows down,

It moves with a steady pace

Glasses chin up on your nose

Your mind and heart feels at ease,

Cool, calm and collected

'Wise' it speaks.

Seasons change

Trees turn from green to brown

Leaves wilt, cascading through your thoughts and desires

The wind whispers of the bygone days

You sigh and smile,

With tears in your eyes

It all looks as if you were born yesterday,

When you reach the top of the ladder of life.
