The Knight Of My Life

Once upon a time in my life 

I had a Knight who had a light

within him which lit up my life

Happiness and joy-filled in and everything was bright.

The knight had a secret but known to me,

His loyalty belonged to someone I had never met or seen.

Though he had mended my broken heart and set it free,

But it took just a moment to pull it out and let it bleed,

The knight turned dark, cruel and vile

My nightmares came true in just a few day's time.

As broken and torn as he left me never to return and reconcile,

I shredded to pieces and in silence, I cried and told myself he was never mine.

Long lost forgotten one day came again

When he returned a little hurt and regret in his eyes.

That was enough to melt me again 

without an apology in written or invoice.

My heart skipped a beat again.

And a little friendship blossomed between us.

On a fine day, I met eye to eye with the truth

He was cruel enough to bring her right in front of the door.

How could I put it in words that I was hurt?

He realized I was indifferent and it was over and so was the hope

I wanted to fight but how could you fight a knight

You are bound to lose or bound to die

I never got my closure which was my right

Nonetheless, my heart knows the truth it was all a lie.
