The Forgotten Hand
The Forgotten Hand
Never wondered who he was or what he became
Never thought of his pride nor of his shame
But for that one moment he had won
His smile and kindness had me done
For without his hand, as I fell
I'm sure I'd slip straight down to hell
And while for others it may not be a game changer
I was deeply thankful to that stranger
Whether happy and peaceful or failing in life
Whether a happy family or an estranged wife
He had saved me from being late
And for once that day I wasn't held at the gate
For that moment that my teacher didn't stare
I felt like atleast someone really did care
