Aura Of Love

They sat in a car facing away

Knowing together they could no longer stay

"Was this the end?" she thought in her mind

"Will my love not be returned in kind?"

His legs were shaking as the car came to stop

Unsure if his words might make her blow her top

He silently opened the car's boot

The fear of rejection taking deep root

They both walked towards the airport door

Both waiting for the end that was in store

Gathering up his courage he bent the knee

And asked, "Will you be mine for eternity?"

Both hearts stopped as words hung in the air

Even the bustling crowd paused to stare

And the Phoenix resurrected from its ash

As the love-filled yes brought tears from its stash
