The Five Year Itch...

Once there was a common man, and a common man was he..

He was held hostage by inflation and taxed with tax increase..

And with the depreciating rupee, he suffered more.., than

Less..

Till finally a day comes...when his survival becomes a

Daily guess.

Then comes the general elections, after 5 years of aches and pain..

And like every time, he (and the world) watch in awe- the 3 headed Lion

With a great mane.

And as he revels in…The great ‘Dance of Democracy’..,

For the Lion will dance for him now but not so soon again.

And for now, the poor man knows, he has the power of a

New mandate..

With promise of a happy country with a stronger Rupee and

Less hate.

Hoping it will elevate him from all the despondency

And pain…

Making his family smile and sing-

‘Happy Days are here again ! ’
