The Firsts In My Life
The Firsts In My Life
The firsts of my life, oh how they do persist,
In memories that have long since been missed.
The first kiss, so sweet and so pure,
A moment that will forever endure.
The monsoon of 2007, so wild and so free,
A storm that washed away all that was me.
A solo trip, so scary and so bold,
A journey that made me feel alive and whole.
But with every first, there comes regret,
A mistake that I'll never forget.
A fear that grips me, so tight and so strong,
A demon that has been with me all along.
Yet even in the midst of all this strife,
There was a discovery that changed my life.
A love that made me a poet true,
A passion that forever grew and grew.
So here's to the firsts, both good and bad,
For they have made me who I am and what I've had.
And though I may stumble and fall,
I'll always remember the firsts, one and all.
