THE EMPTY NEST

THE EMPTY NEST

1 min
315

You flew far away from the nest

Leaving nothing but emptiness

With your prolonged departure

I have lost my true happiness

Was it out of genuine love?

You asked me to wait

Or was it out of pity and mercy

You didn't want to hate

What if you have just promised

And applied a healing balm

To not let my heart get shattered

Your promises were calm?

Will my waiting be answered

It's been a couple of years

Dedicated I have always been

But my expectation fears

What reasons you may have

I have kept my word

But it aches to the heart's core

For the empty nest misses the bird.
