The Change

There was a time not so long ago,

There was a time not so long ago,

Where a walk through the roads could leave you aglow,

For on your left and right would be a canopy of trees,

Sheltering the chirpy birds and the busy bees!

The flowers would bloom lifting your gloom,

Your spirits would lift with the gentle breeze,

Your eyes would be subjected to a visual treat,

Of blooming flowers and vibrant leaves!

You would hear the gentle humming sound,

Hark.. Is there a brook flowing not afar.. 

The gurgling and chattering rejoicing us all!

The times pass and the seasons change,

Where a walk through the park is considered unsafe,

For the black cover of soot coats our lungs,

And the flowers do not bloom and the trees become barren.

My eyes flitter all across in pain,

Due to the effect of SO2 and NO2 forming acid rain!

The brook is covered with white masses

Due to chemical foam and not snow,

Harming the aquatic life with vigour!

Our spirits dampen with the climate change

The earth's temperature increases with each passing day!

CFCs and CH4 makes a deadly combo,

making us dance to a deadly tango!

Let's take a solemn promise

And practice the 3 R's

Reduce Reuse and Recycle all you can, 

For if you don't nature's beauty will fade away... Oh Man!
