The Beckoning
The Beckoning
All that is distant
and is unknown
Why is that it beckons me
and neither can I fathom
the depth of the calling
Is it shallow like the water?
from the night rain
and getting dry by the day
Or intense like the wailing
that pierces the dark night
with all its shrillness
The echoes inside don’t die
and keep coming from all sides
