Thank You For Healing

You walked into my life

At the perfect timing;

You mended the ruins I was in:

Indeed, you have done that for many,

I am no different from any;

But, it is not the same for me:

I was all along walking through

The sharp gravel-filled road

For almost a decade;

Until the bruises stopped hurting,

As the numbness prevailed.

You just sneaked in

With no big noise or agitation

Hand-held me to a beautiful pasture

A smoother lawn that soothed my feet

I know it is not right to fall for the healer

But, I have no control over me

When you dusted off the dead butterflies,

You missed noticing the crawling caterpillars

That you left behind;

Now they have all turned into butterflies,

Whenever you come close they flutter,

It is truly beautiful to feel them fluttering...

My mind knows the rule and keeps the heart shut;

Heart begs to express the emotions,

Mind allows only to express gratitude;

That too in an undefined and abstract form.

I make sure to keep it subtle and secret;

The only objective is just to add little happiness

To your day-to-day routine

You have never sensed anything odd,

And so you just acknowledged them;

You are the most subtle human being I ever know:

You never questioned my intentions,

You trusted me that I care for you

And I meant no harm...

Thank you for not putting me through trials,

Thank you for accepting my gratitude,

Without any explanations or definitions...
