Superheroes
Superheroes
When the whole world was scared and defeated,
When the clouds of despair circled us,
When the skies turned gloomy,
Streets empty, air poisonous,
When we locked ourselves in our homes,
Terrified of the invisible enemy,
They stood fearlessly fighting the enemy,
The enemy which doesn’t tire, breaks, burns,
Wearing the white cape and scars on their faces,
They fought with just one superpower – dedication,
When the mad dance of apocalypse began,
They patrolled the streets day and night,
Without any armors and weapons,
Under the khaki uniform sweating in the scorching sun,
To protect the sane and the insane,
When the enemy killed relentlessly without discrimination,
When the enemy saw no caste, religion, color,
The untouchables who cleaned your dirt,
Turned warriors to save you from becoming an untouchable,
When the war began, we truly realised who our real superheroes are,
We realised Batman works day and night in the ICU,
We realised Iron Man sacrifices his life to keep you inside,
He’s standing face-to-face with Thanos with sticks and determination,
We realised Spiderman doesn’t cling to the buildings,
He cleans the buildings.
