TRAPPED

TRAPPED

Trapped inside like caged birds and animals,

We saw the world getting ready for the funerals,

The air turned pure and clean,

The grass beautifully green,

But we hid behind the curtains/in our castles like a defeated queen,

Was the catastrophe vengeance of mother earth?

As if she staged her rebirth,

Enthusiasts learned baking, cooking, reading,

But the liar on the TV screaming,

Under the garb of nationalism, the hatred spewing,

Green, saffron, and red mixing and stirring,

While the motherland was helplessly crying,

But some had no privilege to be locked at home,

No one told them it was no time to roam,

But they set on their foot,

Robbed of their livelihood,

Fooled by the government and forming their own movement,

They cried, starved, butchered, and begged,

But with blisters on their feet,

Alone they danced the mad dance of democracy.

Watching even the gods indulge in hypocrisy
