Sunflower
Sunflower
Different hues of light,
Telling me to stop and look
Like sunlight passing through the branches
Know that life is an array of emotions
I start to think if I was right
When I thought being happy was the goal
Grey is beautiful and so were times I deemed sad
For I found myself standing up without a stick
Entwined in despair I had lost track
Sullen, lonely and cursed
Badgering myself as to why
Never realizing that this could be a blessing in disguise
Peeping out of the self-proclaimed exile
I meet a version of me I had never met before
Like the sunflower, facing my adversity
Conquering my demons once and for all.
