Strength Of The Past

On days when I feel low

I travel back

To the time I cried

In places lonely and quiet

I meet my old self

Dressed in black and white

She looks young but scared

Alluring eyes with tears

She cries in silence

Until she feels my presence behind

I startle her with my attire of all colors

Shinning and sparkling

In her tiny room of terror

She asks me who am I?

I tell her “I am the future you desire”

She then smiles and urges me to go back

Passing me the strength

To save my future self

For my presence in the present

With the strength from my past

Can only create the future that I crave

And I come back

With a smile on my face

To take the journey ahead.
